Research Summary Natosha Hoduski is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Environmental Governance at the Ostrom Workshop at Indiana University and a Fellow at the Centre for Syrian Studies at the University of St Andrews. She holds a PhD in International Relations and Geography from the University of St Andrews, where her doctoral research investigated the hydropolitical dynamics of governing areas of limited statehood during the Syrian Civil War. Specializing in environment and natural resource governance, her current project examines Source-to-Sea plastics pollution and environmental policy from a riverine governance perspective.
Dr. Hoduski brings extensive experience in translating complex geopolitical and environmental dynamics into actionable policy insights. Her professional history includes tenures as an Ecological Security Fellow at the Center for Climate and Security, a Research Intern at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) supporting the Water Convention and Water Protocol Teams, a Research Assistant at the Fund for Peace predominantly working on the Fragile State Index, and a Research Associate at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. She has conducted qualitative fieldwork in North and East Syria and Palestine, and managed humanitarian relief operations in Greece. She holds an MSc in International Relations of the Middle East with Arabic from the University of Edinburgh and studied Arabic at the University of Birzeit.
